Azucarera El Viejo is a Costa Rican agroindustrial company that produces more than 1.8MM 50 kg packages of sugar annually, which corresponds to 22.7% of national production, allocating approximately 9,000 hectares for planting sugar cane. We are a company concerned about the environment; We produce clean energy using bagasse waste to generate steam in the boilers. This energy is used within the production process and is also sold to the national grid. In recent years, the company has diversified significantly, entering the area of Tourism with Hacienda El Viejo Wetlands, a national heritage site with the second largest private wetland in the country.
