Centro Internacional de Inversiones S.A, (CIISA), began operations in 1969 at the initiative of North American investors in the beef export activity. In 1977, it became part of Costa Ricans with family management, using El Arreo as a commercial brand. Once the objective of being recognized as one of the main suppliers in the meat sector has been achieved, the company decides to expand its operations by building a plant dedicated to the production and distribution of pork products.

In 1993, the CIISA Group decided to diversify and bet on a service and distribution business that was previously unexplored in the country: Foodservice. With the opening of Belca Honduras and Belca Guatemala in 2006 and 2007 respectively. The company currently extends its services to the Central American region, reaching today more than 5,000 sku’s in its portfolio.
